TOPIC: How Fermentation is Revolutionizing the Potency and Efficacy of Botanical Medicine

Human beings have been fermenting food for centuries, in every culture on earth. Many foods and nutrients are enhanced by this process, providing beneficial immune-boosting and digestive effects. With the onset of pasteurization and an increasing focus on processing and preserving our foods, many of the traditional sources of fermented foods in our diets have disappeared. By fermenting a wide variety of botanicals and nutrients, we can combine the benefits of the original botanicals with those of fermentation, thus creating a whole new category of beneficial botanical medicine through the synergy of these two ancient practices. Join Dr. Miranda Demierre, ND, for a discussion of the science of fermentation, and how it can transform familiar botanicals and nutrients, enhancing their beneficial effects and supporting immunity, digestion, and overall health.
